About Our Church

Our Mission & Vision

Our mission is to uphold the teachings of Scripture, foster spiritual growth and community outreach, and passionately spread the Gospel of Christ

At Brooks Baptist Church, we envision a vibrant, faith-driven community grounded in the Baptist tradition. Inspired by the timeless truths of Scripture, our vision is to cultivate a space where individuals and families grow in their relationship with God, live out the teachings of Jesus Christ, and extend His love to all people. We strive to be a beacon of hope, grace, and biblical truth in our community, reflecting Christ’s light in every aspect of life.

Our Vision at Brooks Baptist Church

At Brooks Baptist Church, our vision is to create a thriving community of faith that lives at the intersection of tradition and transformation, deeply rooted in the Baptist heritage. Guided by the unchanging truths of Scripture, we aspire to nurture a sanctuary where every individual and family can flourish in their walk with God. It is our heartfelt ambition to embody the teachings and example of Jesus Christ in all that we do, fostering an environment of spiritual growth, genuine fellowship, and unwavering compassion.

We envision Brooks Baptist Church as a lighthouse of hope, grace, and biblical wisdom, illuminating the path for those seeking purpose and peace in a tumultuous world. Through dedicated community outreach, spirited worship, and relentless gospel sharing, we aim to extend the healing hand of Christ's love to all people, breaking down barriers and building bridges in His name.

In pursuit of this vision, we commit to cultivating a vibrant, faith-driven community that not only upholds the Baptist tradition but also passionately engages with the world around us. By investing in the spiritual development of our members and embracing our collective calling to serve, we strive to make a lasting impact that glorifies God and transforms lives, both within our walls and beyond.

Our Beliefs & Values

At Brooks Baptist Church, our core beliefs are anchored in the Baptist Faith & Message 2000, which articulates our theological convictions and reflects our commitment to the authority of Scripture. We affirm the Bible as the inspired, infallible Word of God, serving as the ultimate authority in all matters of faith and practice.

The Nature of God

We believe in one living and true God, who exists eternally in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God is omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent, perfectly manifesting love, justice, and holiness.

Jesus Christ

We hold to the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, bodily resurrection, ascension to the right hand of the Father, and His personal return in power and glory.

The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit convicts of sin, righteousness, and judgment; regenerates the heart of believers; and indwells them, empowering them for godly living and service.

Salvation

Salvation is a gift of God's grace, received through faith in Jesus Christ alone. It involves the redemption of the whole person and is offered to all who repent of their sins and confess Jesus as Lord and Savior.

The Church

We believe the church is the Body of Christ, a local community of baptized believers, unified through faith in Christ. The church is committed to the teachings of Christ, to the observance of baptism and the Lord's Supper, and to the practice of mutual care and accountability.

Baptism and The Lord's Supper

Baptism is an act of obedience symbolizing the believer's faith in a crucified, buried, and risen Savior, the believer's death to sin, the burial of the old life, and the resurrection to walk in newness of life in Christ Jesus. The Lord's Supper is a symbolic act of obedience whereby members memorialize the death of the Redeemer and anticipate His second coming.

The Last Things

We believe in the personal and visible return of the Lord Jesus Christ to earth and the establishment of His kingdom. We believe in the resurrection of the body, the final judgment, the eternal felicity of the righteous, and the endless suffering of the wicked.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I become a member of Brooks Baptist Church?

To become a member of Brooks Baptist Church, we invite you to attend our "Starting Points" class, which provides an overview of our church's mission, beliefs, and the many ways you can get involved. Following the class, express your desire for membership through a personal profession of faith in Jesus Christ and baptism by immersion, if you have not already done so. Finally, present yourself for membership during any of our worship services, where you will be warmly welcomed into our church family. For more details or to sign up for the next "Discover Brooks" class, please contact us at connect@brooksbaptist.org.

Do I need to be baptized again to join your church if I was baptized in another denomination?

If your previous baptism was by immersion after a personal decision to follow Christ, it is generally recognized by Southern Baptists. However, if baptized as an infant, by sprinkling, or before a personal commitment to Christ, you may be asked to undergo baptism again by immersion as a public affirmation of your faith in line with Southern Baptist beliefs.

How can I get involved in church ministries or volunteer opportunities?

To get involved in church ministries or volunteer opportunities at Brooks Baptist Church, you can start by talking directly to our church staff who can guide you based on your interests and the current needs of the church. Alternatively, you can send an email to connect@brooksbaptist.org expressing your interest in volunteering. We'll provide you with information on available ministries and how you can contribute to our community's life and service.

Are there any small groups or Bible studies I can join?

Yes, we currently offer Sunday School at 10:00 AM on Sunday mornings, which provides a great opportunity for deeper study of the Bible and fellowship with other believers. While we do not have small groups or additional Bible studies outside of Sunday morning at this time, we are looking forward to introducing these as our church community grows. This will allow for more personalized and intimate settings for spiritual growth and connection.
